It is amazing to me how much New York City architecture has continued to evolve and change over the years. I remember during my years as an architecture student, circa 2007-2010, brand new destinations like the High Line, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and a new master plan for Governors Island was just getting off the ground. It was during these years that I discovered a love for architecture from the designs of Richard Meier, Zaha Hadid, Santiago Calatrava, Norman Foster, Renzo Piano, and Tadao Ando to name a few. I still have many of their Taschen books on my bookshelf, and I still look through them from time to time, not to just admire their work but how it was beautiful photographed. I think this is wear my passion for capturing the built environment first took root.

I recently visited the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan to photograph two buildings that I admired during my college years. Jean Nouvel's 23-story residential tower (left) and Frank Gehry's IAC Building headquarters (right). It is unbelievable how much New York architecture has developed since then, and will continue to do so. I am very grateful to live in a city where I am never without a subject to photograph. 🙏
